Gembloux
Like the 22 editions before it, the 23rd edition will again be held in Gembloux. However, it will not be at the same location. The old building was no longer up to code, so the town decided to tear it down and build a new hall. In the meantime, the Belgian Knife Society had to find a new venue for their knife show. After consulting with the mayor, Cofrérie des Chevaliers de la coutellerie Gembloux and the office of tourism, they agreed to let the show take place in a large sports complex.
Because it was at a new place, there were some logistical problems to solve, like placing mats to protect the floor, hiring a food truck, and arranging tables and chairs. With the help of a handful of volunteers, the problems were solved in one morning of hard labor.
Big shout-out to the volunteers, thanks.
But a knife show isn't a knife show without knives and their makers. With 132 exhibitors from 23 different countries and more than 1,800 visitors from 30 different countries, you may say that the BKS knife show in Gembloux has its place in the international top of knife shows.
